good morning! – July 25, 2008

Good morning all,
Good rain this morning.
Today, I am going to the campaign office to answer the many phone calls and e-mails I have received in the last 10 days.  We filmed several TV commercials on Wednesday and today we are editing them.  They will be going out on Monday or Tuesday.  We also hired an ad firm to increase our presence on the web and re-design our web page with more capabilities than we currently have.  I am delighted with our progress and next week I will be on the “Iron Range” meeting with the media up there and getting to know the people and their concerns.  Have a wonderful day and enjoy the moments.
Very truly yours,

Good Morning – Wednesday, July 23

July 23, 2008 by priscillalordfarisforsenate

Good morning Everybody,

Besides being such a beautiful morning, I just read a very nice analysis of our campaign on the MPR website.  It is a piece by Mark Zdechlik and he points out that we are an alternative to Franken but have lots of work to do to catch up to him. http://minnesota.publicradio.org/display/web/2008/07/22/lordfaris_profile/

I have been fortunate to have had a piece in the paper or on the radio or TV everyday since I filed for U.S. Senate.

At 9:00 a.m,. in the campaign office, we will start filming a couple of TV ads which I am told will take several hours.  I have been asked to appear at Planned Parenthood offices in Minneapolis for an interview in the afternoon and then dinner with friends from college in the evening.

Have a beautiful day and “enjoy the moment.”

Very truly yours,

Priscilla Lord Faris

Good Morning – 7/22/08

July 22, 2008 by priscillalordfarisforsenate

Good morning all,
I am not surprised that Al Franken refused to debate me.  He probably knows that I will take him on for his record of serving Minnesotans.  (No record). It may be that he knows about my record which is serving Minnesotans for 30 years as a teacher, advocate and volunteer.  This morning the Star Tribune had an article about Coleman and Franken on page B3 but it had my picture in the middle of the article.  (No photos of either of the opponents).

No matter what, I am determined to take on Norm Coleman and his disastrous policies of sending Minnesota’s women and men into a war that was started under false pretenses and that has resulted in sky high gas and food prices; lowering the taxes of the rich and ignoring the needs of health care for 50 million Americans.

At 9:30 this morning we are having a meeting at the campaign office today with about 15 volunteers who will be checking in on the progress of their various roles.  Last night we received another maximum donation of $2.300 not to mention the other generous smaller donations.  At noon I get to see some old Minnetonka high school friends at lunch in Excelsior and then I go to the studio to start making my TV and radio commercials.  Life is good.

Thanks for tuning in and supporting a Minnesota candidate with Minnesota values on a Minnesota budget.

Very truly yours,
Priscilla Lord Faris

Good Morning – Monday July 21

July 21, 2008 by priscillalordfarisforsenate

Good Morning fellow Minnesotans,
It is another beautiful day in lovely Minnesota.  I am sitting out on our porch, reading articles about the U.S. Senate campaign in Minnesota, e-mails, returning calls and planning my campaign for the week.  Today we are meeting with Jim Dunlop who has offered to be our Media Consultant.  (More about him after I meet with him.)  George Appleby and Dad (Miles Lord) have agreed to be the Co-Chairs of the campaign.  George will be doing the lions share of the work as Dad is 88 ½ and mostly offering his experience and wisdom.  I am eager to get to the outstate areas to meet with the voters.

Oh, by the way, I want to stress that we are sharing Minnesota values on a Minnesota budget.  We are announcing a contest for the best yard sign.  More details later.  I just now received an invitation to speak at the Schwan’s Speaker Series on Tuesday, July 29, 2008 8-9:15 am in Marshall, Minnesota.  I can’t wait.  Should be great to meet the folks in Marshall.

I better run, the phones are ringing off the wall.  Have a good Minnesota Day everyone.

Very truly yours,
Priscilla Lord Faris

Sunday July 20, 2008
Hey everybody, it’s a beautiful Sunday and I’m on the run to the campaign office to get some position papers finished. The volunteer staff is coming in at 1:00 and we will meet all afternoon. This evening will be a lot more reading. I have a meeting planned this week with Planned Parenthood, for possible endorsement.

I am so excited! We have received many calls and sign ups and emails, and donations. We are on our way! We’re doing this as a Minnesota campaign, with a Minnesota staff, on a Minnesota budget, for a Minnesota candidate, and it is wonderful! Bye.
